This site is about the sailing vessel “Three Sheets” and the voyage Lynne and Brian will take all around the Caribbean between early November 2008 and late May 2009.
Both Brian and Lynne have left long-term employment of 10 years at each of our companies. We’re pursuing a dream and have determined, based on many factors, that now is the time in our lives that we want to do this.
Some facts about the sailboat Three Sheets:
- 1980 Hunter Cherubini, 37′ cutter rig
- 3 sails (hence ’sheets’). Main, genoa, and staysail (said stays’l, like stay-sill)
- 45 gallons diesel capacity
- 90 gallons water
- safety gear of note: Life Raft, EPIRB, SSB Radio w/ digital modes, VHFx2, Lifesling, flares/etc.
- power: 500AH 12v battery. 120Watts solar, wind generator, inverters
